Lemons – Little Yellow Gems!
Lemons are little gems of yellow that are full of vitamin C as well as vitamin B, riboflavin, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and even proteins. We recommend getting in the habit of consuming lemon water daily. Doing so can help your body with digestion, constipation, nausea and heartburn (when combined with hot water). Because lemons are a citrus fruit rich in vitamin c it can help rejuvenate your skin from within and bring a nice glow to your face. It acts as an anti-aging remedy and can help with wrinkles and blackheads. Lemons can also help with dental care, throat infections and blood pressure. Here are some tips to making lemon water work for your benefit:
- Replace your morning coffee with a warm glass of water with a lemon slice in it. This will help to wake up a sluggish digestive system and is a great way to start off the day.
- Use slices of lemon in your water throughout the day.
- Try washing a lemon in the morning and putting the whole thing in your food processor to grind up the lemon. Put the contents into a container and add it to your water throughout the day (instead of slices of lemon). The lemon peel has pectin in it which is an excellent source of fiber and can also help eliminate cravings.
