How Much Water Is Too Much?
Any dieter will tell you that getting your daily water intake in is a key component to succeeding. The same is true on the Liquid Amino Diet. It aids in keeping you hydrated and continuously flushes any toxins that your body is holding onto. For weight loss results, we recommend drinking half your body weight in ounces per day. For example: If a person weighs 180 pound they should drink 90 ounces of water daily. Spread this amount over the course of the day and remember that decaf coffee and tea will also count toward your daily water intake.
Many people think that drinking more water throughout the day will increase their weight loss; however, this is a common misconception. Drinking more than recommended will NOT speed up your weight loss, doing so can actually be dangerous to your health. Consuming more water than your body can handle at any point in time will offset your sodium and electrolyte levels. This condition is also known as Hypervolemic Hyponatremia. Common symptoms can include but are not limited to headaches, nausea, fatigue, confusion, irritability, as well as vomiting. To avoid such warning signs, do not drink more than ½ your body weight in ounces per day and don’t forget to adjust this amount as you continue to lose weight.
