Liquid Amino Diet Protocol Summary

Dr. Finsand worked closely with internationally renowned doctors of homeopathic medicine to develop a diet plan that produces rapid weight loss results and introduces clean eating in a simple to follow way. This program will help you to lose weight rapidly and keep it off. To succeed, along with taking our Amino Diet Plus drops, you must follow all 3 phases of the program, which are explained briefly below.
The Liquid Amino Diet protocol suggests, but does not require, a preparation phase. Two days before beginning the program eat eggs, dairy, olive oil, avocados, nuts, and start supplementing with 3 grams of Omega 3 fish oil daily, which should contain 3,000 mg of EPA/DHA. During this time, make sure you get in a couple of your favorite foods as you may not see them again for a while. To help reduce symptoms of withdrawal, it is also a good idea to stop drinking soda and start drinking water.
Phase 1 – This is the main weight loss phase of the Liquid Amino Diet.…

Workout Zones – Zone 2

two women jogging

Somewhere between a stroll around the neighborhood and a dripping sweat work out there is a middle ground called Zone 2. This is a more intense cardio workout than Zone 1. Something that you cannot maintain indefinitely, but notice that you are tiring after a period of time. While most can still converse in this stage, your breathing will be heavier and you should have that heart rate up to the point that you are sweating.
Any of the workouts listed for Zone 1 (walking, elliptical, etc.) can be turned into a Zone 2 workout by increasing the length and intensity of the workout. The tricky thing on the Liquid Amino Diet is deciding when that workout should boost you up to the Active Protocols.
Once you are in Zone 2 for your workout and your workout lasts for 60 minutes or longer, you should begin following the Active Protocols. These include extra calories and drops to help support your body when expending more calories.…

Workout Zones – Zone 1

Couple Walking In Park Together

While on the Liquid Amino Diet, you are not required to exercise to lose weight. However, we do recommend that you get some physical activity in almost daily. Exercise has been proven to help you not only burn calories, but combat chronic disease, boost metabolism, reduce stress and even help you sleep better! This doesn’t mean you have to go run 5 miles – you can get the benefits of exercise with a low impact zone one workout.
This is usually a warm up type zone. You will elevate your heart rate slightly, but this is something you could almost do indefinitely. You should be able to easily converse and breathe through your nose. Whatever exercise you choose, find one that you enjoy so you will continue to do it. You may also try to rotate between a few different exercise types so you don’t get bored with the same workout every day.
This zone would include a nice/easy 20-30 minute walk and is a great way to get out of the house and get your blood circulating.…

Good, Better, And Best Food Choices

woman making food choices

When looking at things in life and making decisions, it is often not a choice between a good thing and a bad thing. It is most often a choice between a good thing, a better thing, and the best thing. It is that way with eating, too, especially with the Liquid Amino Diet.
When following the Liquid Amino Diet, you are asked to choose from certain foods at certain times. This doesn’t mean that one food is necessarily better than another, it just means it is best for the time, or phase, you are in. For instance, we have many people ask us why they can’t have melons on phase 1. It’s not because melons are bad for you, they are healthy fruits, but are not allowed until phase 2 just because they don’t help you lose weight as fast as other fruit options.
Now this doesn’t mean that you absolutely can’t have them, we do allow for the fact that every”body” is different and will react differently to different foods.…

Fennel – What is it and how to use it?

fennel

Fennel can be used as an herb, seed, and vegetable depending on what part of the plant you use. It is similar in taste to anise and is closely related to parsley, carrots, dill and coriander. Florence fennel is the form most people are familiar with. It has inflated leaves and a bulb. The bulbs are eaten as a vegetable, both raw and cooked. It is cut in half vertically before cooking and is crunchy with a  slightly sweet taste. It’s available mainly from Autumn through Spring.
Fennel is high in vitamin C and also contains phyto-nutrients including the flavonoids; rutin, quercitin and kaempferol glycosides. These are great antioxidants. Fennel is also high in fiber and a good source of folate and potassium. These qualities make it good to use while on the Liquid Amino Diet. You can either eat it as a vegetable  by preparing Roasted Fennel or use it in any one of these recipes:

Steak Kabobs
Beef and Fennel Patty

Fennel can be a great option to use that will help add variety and flavor to your healthy menu while on the Liquid Amino Diet.…

Breakfast Choices on Liquid Amino Diet

scrambled eggs

Most traditional breakfast foods tend to have loads of sugar, carbs, and fat.  The traditional breakfast meals, such as crepes filled with cream cheese, pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, etc., can cause damage to your diet and potentially put you and your body at a higher risk for chronic diseases like obesity, hypertension, type II diabetes, heart disease, and cancer (of various forms).  Eating the traditional breakfast foods is not worth wreaking havoc on your body.  There is another path you can take. With the LAD program, we focus on eating clean and bringing balance to your body.  Making the transition to a healthy breakfast can seem like a hard task.  However, using the approved foods list can be a great tool to help you easily choose the right kind of foods to eat.
On the program, we recommend that breakfast is your largest meal of the day.  Having a large and healthy breakfast can help your body to boost your metabolism, cut cravings, stabilize blood sugar levels, and also improve your weight loss efforts. …

Controlling Blood Sugar With The Liquid Amino Diet

Controlling Blood Sugar

To understand the Liquid Amino Diet, you must first understand a little bit about glucose and blood sugar. Glucose is your body’s fuel that is converted into energy.  It is measured in the blood, but glucose is only made into energy once it’s inside your cells. That’s why it’s the basic raw material that must be effectively transported to your cells in order for it to work.
When your body is at its best, you have a stable blood glucose level. When you have an unbalanced blood sugar level, it causes a host of health problems. High blood sugar levels or hyper-glycemia, causes diabetes – which then causes heart disease, kidney problems and even blindness.
The good news is that our bodies produce insulin to keep our blood sugar levels under control. Insulin allows glucose to be transported efficiently in our bodies The bad news? In many people, especially obese people, insulin is not working as it normally should. When the body does not produce insulin or when there are insufficient numbers of insulin receptors it often results in type 1 diabetes, which raises your blood sugar levels to dangerous heights.…

Shop the Perimeter

shopping cart

Going to the grocery store while on a diet can test the willpower of everyone. Take a minute, close your eyes and picture your local grocery store.  How many chip displays or candy bins come to mind? While on the Liquid Amino Diet, you need to stick to the approved foods list of proteins, fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats. Generally you will find most everything you need by sticking to the perimeter of the store. That is where you will find the fresh, whole foods. The isles in the middle contain many boxed meals, processed foods, and foods that will slow your loss while on the program.

When you stay on the perimeter of the store, you’ll find that you end up eating a healthier and more nutritious diet. You are now eating REAL food filled with vitamins and nutrients straight from nature, not the other stuff created to satisfy our society’s cravings for fat, sugar and salt.  You become the creator of the food, monitoring what is added, not leaving it up to the manufacturer to decide.…

Edamame, the Overlooked Legume

Edamame

Edamame is immature soybeans in the pod and has a sweet, nutty and full flavor with a slightly crunchy texture. In Japanese, edamame means “twig bean” because of when and how it’s picked. In Chinese, its name is Maodou, which means “hairy bean”. They are often served in Japanese and Chinese restaurants as an appetizer.
Edamame is rich in carbohydrates, protein, dietary fiber, folates, and vitamin K. They are also high in Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. On the Glycemic Index it scores a low six.  Edamame beans are the only commonly consumed plant protein that is complete, meaning it contains all of the essential amino acids in sufficient quantities to help meet the body’s requirements.  It is equal in quality to animal proteins and low in saturated fats.
Edamame is in season during the summer months, but can usually be found in the freezer section at the store throughout the year. To prepare it you can boil, or steam them in water and sprinkle with sea salt.…
