Caffeine On The Liquid Amino Diet
Did you know that caffeine can stay in your system for up to nine hours? Many people do not realize that and suffer from sleeplessness, irritability, skin problems, and insomnia among other things. If you experience any of these then you should consider cutting back on your daily cup of Java or switching to decaf. Decaf tea and grain coffee make excellent alternatives.
But if you can’t give up that daily caffeine boost…
One of the great things about the Liquid Amino Diet is that you can continue to have that morning cup of coffee; you just need to keep it in moderation. One – two cups a day of a caffeinated beverage will not disrupt your program. However, since caffeine is a diuretic and will actually flush fluids from your system, these caffeinated beverages cannot be counted towards your daily water intake.
This is not a free ticket to start drinking soda pop, crystal light, or anything else sweetened with artificial sweeteners. Drinking such things on the program will hinder your weight loss efforts. You can get that small amount of caffeine from coffee or tea. We suggest drinking ½ your body weight in ounces of water daily (added lemons are okay). For example, if you weigh 180 pounds then you will need to drink 90 ounces of water daily. However, regardless of how much you weigh, never drink less than 64 ounces of water each day.
