Breakfast Choices on Liquid Amino Diet
Most traditional breakfast foods tend to have loads of sugar, carbs, and fat. The traditional breakfast meals, such as crepes filled with cream cheese, pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, etc., can cause damage to your diet and potentially put you and your body at a higher risk for chronic diseases like obesity, hypertension, type II diabetes, heart disease, and cancer (of various forms). Eating the traditional breakfast foods is not worth wreaking havoc on your body. There is another path you can take. With the LAD program, we focus on eating clean and bringing balance to your body. Making the transition to a healthy breakfast can seem like a hard task. However, using the approved foods list can be a great tool to help you easily choose the right kind of foods to eat.
On the program, we recommend that breakfast is your largest meal of the day. Having a large and healthy breakfast can help your body to boost your metabolism, cut cravings, stabilize blood sugar levels, and also improve your weight loss efforts. With the LAD program, it is recommended to have two to three food groups for your breakfast meal. These food groups range from a healthy fat, protein, vegetable, approved grain option, or a fruit serving. Most people like to have a meal of a protein, fruit, and vegetable serving in the morning.
If you are having a hard time deciding what food choice to pick, consider some of our dieters top favorites choices. One top favorite is to have cottage cheese (protein serving) with some mixed in blueberries or strawberries (fruit serving) and a serving of a vegetable on the side, like carrots or celery. If you do not like cottage cheese, that is okay, you do not have to eat it. There are other choices. Many prefer to use a protein shake. Protein shakes are very beneficial for your body because your body can absorb the protein and other nutrients in the shake at a higher rate than your body can absorb nutrients from solid foods. Along with the protein shake, you have the option to add a serving of fruit, several ice cubes and some water. Then, blend the shake in a blender to have a protein shake and eat another side serving of a vegetable.
Another top favorite is to have a serving of full eggs, which counts as a protein AND your healthy fat for the day. There are many ways to fix your eggs that are LAD compliant. Check out these recipes:
- Deviled Eggs
- Spinach Omelet
- Creamy Asparagus Omelet
- Scrambled eggs with ketcup or salsa picante
- Hard boiled eggs
One of our new Team Favorite recipes is the Protein Pancakes – add some strawberries on top… delicious!!
