Benefits of a Weight Loss Buddy
If you are trying to lose weight, you are not alone. Many of us know how hard it can be. There are many temptations out there like; food, peer pressure from others, and feeling discouraged if you are not seeing the results you would like to right away. It is time to change all of the negative factors of weight loss into positive. This means having a weight loss buddy! Friends are a big support system for people, especially when you are trying to succeed in something life changing. There are many ways to make friends who are willing to support you with your goals, but of course you can always use old friends!
Below are some examples of ways you can expand your social networks, build relationships, and gain a positive change.
- Diet with your spouse, a close family member, or friend. Losing weight is tough, let alone doing it by yourself. Find a partner to do it with, or do it as a group. It will help motivate you to stick with it, and you could be helping someone else right along with you.
- Use social networking. Many people use websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Use these to your own weight loss benefit. You can meet people in the same situation as yourself whom are trying to lose weight. For an example, we use our Facebook page (Amino Diet) to help dieters. We answer questions, help those who are struggling, help build up dieter’s confidence, and we encourage other dieters to do the same on the page. This is a good way to meet new people and encourage healthy positive attitudes.
- Be a role model at work, and to others. Use your new healthy life style at work to show others your positive changes. They will be so impressed with the changes you have made for yourself they may want to change something about themselves as well.
- Ask Questions. This may seem a little silly, but asking questions is huge for your success! If you are not sure about something you can have or cannot have on the diet, for example, ask! You can always call the health coaches, or even ask a friend. Yourself and others want to see you succeed. This is one easy step to make sure you are heading in the right direction for your weight loss goal.
In the end we hope you will use all the tools you can to reach your goals. This means making new friends or using the ones you have to motivate each other.
