4 Tips To Break A Stall In Your Weight Loss
The Amino Diet is one of the fastest and safest ways to lose weight. If followed as directed, it will help you lose weight faster than any other program on the market. On average our female customers will lose 15-25 lbs the first month and our male customers will lose 20-30 lbs. Most of the weight comes off the mid-section, resulting in smaller waist and hip sizes. This does not happen by chance; it’s actually the body’s normal response when it’s fed low glycemic foods.
The Amino Diet is considered a low glycemic impact diet. Meaning it impacts the body’s mid-section fat by reducing the amount of insulin and increasing the amount of glucagon being produced. Simply said, Insulin is a hormone that stores fat and Glucagon is a hormone that utilizes fat. As we eat low glycemic foods throughout the day, there is no reason to store fat so Insulin stays low and Glucagon starts using fat. After days and weeks of eating low glycemic foods your body literally begins to transform.
The first week you’ll typically see rapid weight loss, often ½ to 1 pound each day. After the first week the weight loss might slow down a bit or even hit a few plateaus. This is not a bad thing! The body needs time to adjust to the new diet. Hormones begin to regulate and glands begin to run more efficiently. Your endocrine system starts running like it is supposed to, reducing adrenal fatigue, increasing your metabolism, and helping to normalize sex hormones. These changes may initially cause the weight loss to slow down, but with time it will allow your body to maintain the weight that you’ll eventually lose. It is interesting that during most weight loss stalls, you’ll notice a significant reduction in inches around your waist and hips. You’ll start fitting into jeans better and you’ll see a noticeable loss of body fat.
If you are following the program as outlined in the guidebook, there are 4 additional questions you need to ask yourself if you are stalling for more than a week:
- Are you currently or have you recently been on any medications? Almost all prescription medications are synthetic and can cause great disturbance on the endocrine system. Hormones regulate almost all systems in the body and are often confused by synthetic drugs and can cause the body to gain weight. If you happen to be on a prescription medication than talk to your doctor about this program and see if it is appropriate to reduce the prescription as you begin to see the positive effects of a healthy diet. Do not do this without consulting with your doctor.
- Have you eliminated toxins from the body? Most people do not realize that as your body stores fat it is also storing toxins. We take in toxins from the processed foods we eat, pesticides sprayed on crops, prescription medications and the polluted air that we breathe. You must regularly detox the body to achieve optimal health but it is especially important when you’re losing weight. As you eliminate mid-section body fat, the toxins in that fat are re-released into the body. This can cause you’re body to feel sick and it can cause you to plateau. I recommend that everyone take Dual Support supplement from Amino Diet while losing weight and even later as a daily supplement to consistently rid the body of toxins.
- Are you drinking enough water? Water is essential for life and it is essential for eliminating toxins and waste from the body. If you are not drinking enough water it can negatively affect every system and every cell in your body. I recommend drinking half your body weight in ounces on a daily basis. For example, if I weigh 200 lbs I would try and drink 100 ounces of water each day. You probably don’t need more than that, so don’t go overboard but following that standard will allow the body to rehydrate and work more efficiently.
- Are you getting enough sleep? Sleep is so under-rated! Lack of sleep can reap all kinds of havoc on the body. Chronic sleep deprivation may lead to weight gain, obesity, diabetes and even cardiovascular disease. Your body heals itself while you sleep. If you’re not getting enough sleep you’re sabotaging everything else you’re doing to lose weight.
The Amino Diet is a lifestyle. It’s not a starvation diet or a fad diet, it’s simply a way to eat that allows all systems in your body to perform at their optimal levels and the wonderful side-effect is that you’re body drops to its optimal size and weight. If you are stalling, try to keep in mind the long-term goal and of course follow the four steps listed above.
